CCHF Creates Sukkah Decoration

The Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation created a sukkah decoration sign which states “Keep our Sukkah beautiful by keeping it loshon-hora free.” The poster is available on powerofspeech.org as a free download.

“Sukkah is one of the only mitzvos that surrounds the entire body,” said Mr. Michachel Rothshcild. “It’s so important to make sure we have clean speech while being surrounded by kedushah.”

Chazak Got a Whole Lot More Personal

Chazak, the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation’s inspirational phone line, is known for its motivational content on an array of topics. One of the most popular features on Chazak is the personal stories. Chazak has rearranged all its stories making it easier for listeners to get to a story much quicker.

“When people hear a personal story on Chazak it gives them lots of chizuk,” said Mr. Michael Rothschild, Director of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation. “They are hearing from people who went through similar situations as themselves. It gives them tremendous chizuk and guidance; it makes them feel that they are not alone.”

5th Grade Skver Makes Siyum at CCHF

The 5th grade boys of Talmud Torah Yaakov Yosef Skver celebrated the completion of the Shomrie Haloshon Program on Friday. They came to the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation headquarters, where they received doughnuts and certificates. Each boy was given their own tehillim as a lasting gift for their amazing accomplishment.

Rabbi Shea Steinberg, a school liaison for Bidrachov, organizes class events at the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation. “The students felt so accomplished,” said Rabbi Steinberg, “and to have a siyum at the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation makes it so special. I wanted them to walk away with a lesson from their visit, so I showed them a powerful slide presentation teaching the importance of inclusion.”

Mishmeres Held Its Annual Oriention

Mishmeres, the high school girls division of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation, hosted its annual orientation last night. Mishmeres Heads from all over came together to learn how to make Mishmeres the best in their school. The program included speeches, food and games.

“We could have easily sent them a packet with ideas,” said Rivky Levi, a Mishmeres event planner. “The fact that we made this event shows the girls that we really believe in them.”

“Misheres’s goal is to bring a Shmiras Haloshon awareness to high school girls,” said Tziri Frank, Mishmeres Coordinator. “But it’s the Mishmeres Heads that really make this goal a reality”

Mishmeres is innovative, interactive and consistent. It keeps girls engaged in an on-going effort to develop the positive power of speech. Monthly themes come to life through eye-catching posters and slogans, thought-provoking newsletters, trigger-films and presentations designed especially for high school girls. This year Mishmeres will be in 93 schools worldwide which reaches over 13,800 students

The Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation release a new audio series entitled “Wisdom and Clarity – on a Rainbow of Issues” by Mrs Chani Juravel.

We want a lot out of life, a lot out of other and most of all, a lot out of ourselves. But it’s when expectations don’t match up to reality that real personal growth begins. This series teaches you how to embrace your real life and your real self.

Mrs. Chani Juravel is a lecturer, therapist and director of Machon Lev V’Nefesh a women’s learning initiative.

The Konei Olam Year Has Begun!

Birdrachov, the elementary school division of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation, has kicked off the Konei Olam year by sending out 4,000 curriculum passports.

“It’s amazing how this program really engages children by taking them along on a journey with their own passports,” said Rabbi Shea Steinberg, a school liaison for Bidrachov.

Geared for 2nd and 3rd grade, Konei Olam is an innovative middos program that uses fun and excitement to help students internalize fundamental middos. The program takes the students on an exciting worldwide adventure with Yoni! They join him as he traverses the world and experiences the sights and sounds of eight fascinating countries in his quest to acquire good middos. When they complete their journey at the end of the year, they have a personal passport packed with beautiful pictures of each sight – and precious middos to apply to their lives.

The program focuses on the following eight middos: זריזות, אמת, חסד, סבלנות, נושא בעול, שמח בחלקו, כבוד הורים ומורים, הכרת הטוב.

The program includes daily lessons, theme-based scenarios, questions, activities, take-home contests and practical application. In addition, it has an incentive program with student passports, weekly stickers and monthly prizes. All incentives are provided by the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation.

The Konei Olam program is available in English and Yiddish and starts on Rosh Chodesh Cheshvon.

Mishmeres Kicks Off the New Year

Mishmeres, the high school girls division of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation, started off the year with the Chodesh Elul package. Each Mishmeres head received posters and ideas to help take Mishmeres to the next level in their school. This month focused on “A New Year, A New Chance to Upgrade Your Speech,” encouraging girls to learn Shmiras Haloshon daily.

Mishmeres was developed to inspire high school girls to use the power of words as a positive force. Monthly themes are conveyed through daily learning and presentations designed to spur on personal growth.
